Stella’s Story

Stella

Stella was a 13 year old English Bulldog whom a local animal control agency found dumped in a creek and left for dead.  She has obviously lived her entire life outside and more than likely on a chain and was nothing but a puppy ATM that was thrown up when the money ran out.  Due to her never being spayed, she has mammary cancer that has spread to her lungs.  Along with that she also has heartworms that have put her into heart failure, as well as multiple other very preventable issues that are easily corrected with responsible dog ownership.  She was scheduled to be euthanized by animal control due to her multitude of ailments.  Our rescue stepped in to adopt her so she would know love and joy for as long as she had left.  We created a Last Wishes page for her to help educate people on preventable illnesses and what happens when you neglect to give your pet preventative care.  One of "her wishes" was to be on the news to educate people on responsible pet ownership.  She was able to accomplish this three-fold thanks to Fox46, The Charlotte Observer, and The Mooresville Tribune.  We  constantly monitored her quality of life to make sure she did not suffer.  She is a real life inspiration that proves never give up on love and happiness.  She never did even though the people that should have been there to protect her, failed her.  You can see all of her adventures on facebook at:
